Rigger and Signal Person Competent Person Training Online Idaho

Rigger and Signal Person Competent Person Training.

Training covers pre-use inspection, required tagging/marking, and proper application when using eyebolts, shackles, links, wire rope clips, thimbles, angle loading, slings (wire rope, synthetic web, synthetic round, and chain), horizontal angle stress, sling pads/softeners, spreader bars, and lifting beams.

Signal Person requirements as well as Hand Signals. A certified rigger is a person who has been trained and certified to handle and move loads. The level of certification depends upon the individual's training, knowledge, skill base, and ability to perform functions related to the selection, inspection, and proper use of rigging equipment. In most cases, the Rigger is also the Signal Person.

Although crane operators control the crane, the signal person helps guide them. Because this role is essential, OSHA requires safety training every three years.

This course covers a wide range of topics, including

a. An introduction to rigging and hand signals.

b.  Estimating weights

c.  Sling angles and how to calculate them

d.  Different types of rigging gear and hand signals.

e.  Common safety hazards.

Who Should Take Rigger Signalman Safety Training? Everyone who is involved in lifting. Annually about 50 Riggers die a year. Would Rigger Signal Person Training have helped?

Although this course is designed explicitly for riggers and signalers, the information can benefit anyone who works near cranes.

This Rigger Training is OSHA, ANSI, and ASME B30 consensus safety compliant.

We offer this training Live or online.
