Safety Program Development
KARM Safety Solutions can build a complete safety program tailored to your company and scope of work. We take the time to understand your operations, the work your employees perform, the equipment they use, and the hazards they may encounter. From there, we develop a practical safety program tailored to the requirements of your workplace. The goal is not to hand you a generic template, but to provide a safety program that reflects how your company actually operates and can be effectively implemented by management, supervisors, and employees.
Safety Program Review
Already have a safety program? KARM Safety Solutions can perform a comprehensive review of your existing program to identify areas that may be outdated, incomplete, or in need of improvement. We can review your written safety policies, programs, procedures, previous OSHA inspection or citation information when available, training documentation, and other safety records. After the review, we provide a detailed report outlining our findings, areas of concern, and recommended corrective actions, giving you a clear roadmap to strengthen your safety program.
Custom Safety Policies Manual
Every company operates differently, which is why a one-size-fits-all safety manual may not adequately address your workplace. KARM Safety Solutions develops custom safety policy manuals based on your company's actual work practices, hazards, equipment, and operations. Policies can address subjects such as fall protection, hazard communication, PPE, respiratory protection, lockout/tagout, heat illness prevention, wildfire smoke, ladders, electrical safety, equipment operation, emergency procedures, and other requirements applicable to your business.
Job Site Safety Audits
KARM Safety Solutions can visit your construction site, industrial facility, shop, vineyard, or other workplace and provide an independent safety audit of your operations. We look for hazardous conditions, unsafe work practices, missing documentation, equipment concerns, and other issues that could contribute to an injury or potential OSHA citation. Following the audit, we provide a detailed written report that identifies what was observed, why it may be a concern, and the recommended corrective actions. Photos can also be included when appropriate to help management clearly understand.
Ongoing Job Site Safety Audits
For companies that want ongoing safety oversight, KARM Safety Solutions can establish a regular job-site audit schedule. Audits can be performed weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or on another schedule that fits your operations. Regular third-party audits help identify changing conditions and recurring safety concerns as projects progress. They also provide management with ongoing documentation of safety observations and corrective actions, helping create accountability while keeping safety issues from going unnoticed between inspections.
Fall Protection Equipment Inspections
KARM Safety Solutions provides documented inspections of fall protection equipment and systems, including harnesses, lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, connectors, anchor points, horizontal or vertical systems, and other fall protection components. OSHA requires personal fall protection equipment to be inspected before use, and our periodic or annual documented inspection service provides an additional level of review to help companies identify damaged, worn, expired, or questionable equipment. Each inspected item can be documented in a written report.
Continuing Education Credits
KARM Safety Solutions offers safety education that may qualify for continuing education credit for contractors, landscape professionals, and other licensed or credentialed professionals. We also offer training opportunities that may provide MSHA-related continuing education credit where applicable. This allows employers and professionals to meet continuing education needs while receiving practical workplace safety information they can apply to their operations. Rigging Gear Inspections
We provide documented inspections of rigging equipment used for material handling and lifting operations. Equipment may include synthetic web slings, wire-rope slings, chain slings, shackles, hooks, lifting devices, and other rigging components. OSHA requires rigging equipment used in construction to be inspected before use on each shift, and additional periodic inspections may apply depending on the equipment and how it is used. Our documented inspection service helps companies identify worn, damaged, improperly marked, or questionable equipment and provides a written record of inspection findings and recommendations.
OSHA Citation & Corrective-Action
Receiving an OSHA citation can leave employers with questions about what needs to be corrected, what documentation must be submitted, and how to prevent the same issue from happening again. KARM Safety Solutions can help review citation documents, identify the safety programs or workplace practices involved, organize supporting documentation, develop corrective-action plans, and assist with updating policies and procedures. Our role is to help employers understand and address the safety-related issues identified during the inspection and prepare the necessary safety documentation. When legal advice or representation is needed, employers should work directly with qualified legal counsel.
MSHA Safety Program & Training Support
We help surface mine operators, contractors, and employees understand and address applicable MSHA safety and training requirements. We can assist with reviewing or developing MSHA-related safety and training programs, identifying required training, e valuating documentation, and helping companies prepare for compliance requirements applicable to their operations. Training requirements may fall under 30 CFR Part 46, including new miner training, experienced miner training, task training, annual refresher training, and, where applicable, site-specific hazard awareness. Our goal is to help companies maintain organized documentation, understand their responsibilities.
